About gecolea [Heh-Koh-Lei-Yah]

Gecolea grew up on the beaches swimming and surfing in Ventura, CA. She graduated from UCLA with A B.S. In Psychobiology with a strong interest in Integrative Medicine. After graduating, she traveled and lived abroad in Costa Rica and India and has since found her roots in Santa Barbara, CA. Gecolea completed an immersive Yoga Teacher Training Program in Rishikesh, India-the Holy City of Yoga nestled between the foot of the Himalayas and the ever-flowing Ganga River. There, she delved deep into the heart of yoga, Ayurveda, massage, sound healing, and meditation.

Her international experience helped her forge connections with people from all across the world and deepened the compassionate practice that she feels is essential to teaching yoga. Upon returning to Santa Barbara, her yoga community reached students from various walks of life - first-time yogis, seasoned practitioners, recovering athletes, inspiring artists, those seeking physical healing, trauma recovery, spiritual awakening, or self-exploration.

She currently specializes in therapeutic yoga centered on healing, balance, stillness, flow-state, and love. Her expertise lies in providing a space for humans to feel connected to oneself, the breath, the body, the mind, the soul, their community, the earth, and universal vibrations.

Gecolea continues being a student of yoga as she dances through life, learning and growing from the experience of the endlessly unfolding present moment.
